Welcome to Psychology at San Dieguito High School. I'm excited to learn with you over the next several weeks. We'll be covering several topics, beginning with "Motivation and Emotion". This page will be your resource for everything we do in the class. If you miss a day, you will be able to find information here about what you missed. You will also find power points used in class, homework and project reminders, and additional resources to help you understand what you're learning. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Instructions for Final Blog Reflection (Due 4/5 - by the start of class)
Your final blog reflection should cover the following...
- Explain how you designed your experiment.
- Explain what the results of the experiment were.
- Describe your experience in working with a group to design and conduct an experiment.
- Explain what you learned from this experience.
Social Psychology Project
Your goal is to design an experiment to test one of the theories we're learning about in this unit. Follow the instructions closely. Once you've decided on a question, designed and conducted an experiment, and gathered your results, you will share those results with the class. You must work in groups of 2 - 4. You cannot work alone, and there must be clear roles and equal work among all group members.

(DAY 41) 3/29 - Social Psychology: Implicit Bias
Today we're going to examine our own implicit bias in several categories. We'll be using a test known as the Implicit Association Test or IAT. This test is designed to measure associations between things that we unconsciously think are good vs. bad.

Today we're going to take a look at one of the most powerful drives in human social behavior, the desire to conform. As you can imagine, there's a perfectly understandable evolutionary basis for wanting to fit into a group. But, to what extent will we go in order to fit into a group?

Today we'll continue our exploration into the ethics of research by looking at another controversial experiment performed by Dr. Philip Zimbardo at Stanford University. The aim of the study was discover how easily people would conform to positions of authority in a given scenario.
