FRIDAY & MONDAY (June 2nd & June 5th)

LAST CHANCE TO WORK ON NEWS PROJECTS (in class)!!! Please submit the link to any background slides/video you want to use during your presentation. 

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY (May 31st - June 1st)

Today we'll be spending the entire period working on our News Story Projects. Make sure you're group has research that you can use to begin writing your script. You will not have many opportunities to work on this in class.

FRIDAY & TUESDAY (May 26th & 30th)

Today we'll be discussing our end of the year project. You'll be working in small groups to research an important event in the 1970's, 80's and 90's. After researching the news story, you'll be performing a news broadcast in front of the class that highlights your story. 
Short response: 
  • Why was the space program important to the United States in the 1960's/70's?​ ​                  Give at least three reasons.

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY (May 24th - 25th)

TESTING!!! Chapter 22 & 23 - Make sure you're using the study guide posted about in order to prepare. 

MONDAY & TUESDAY (May 22nd - 23rd)

We'll be spending our class time preparing for the Chapter 22 & 23 Test. Make sure you're using the study guide in order to help you prepare. 

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY (May 16th - 17th)

For periods 2 and 4, we'll be covering Chapter 23, Section 1, talking about the Latino American and Native American struggle for equality in the 1960's and 70's. In 5th Period we'll be watching a short movie about the Women's Fight for Equality in the 1960's. As you watch the movie, make sure you're responding to the video questions. 

Para los períodos 2 y 4, estaremos cubriendo el Capítulo 23, Sección 1, hablando de la lucha de los latinoamericanos y nativos americanos por la igualdad en los años 60 y 70. En el 5to Periodo estaremos viendo una película corta sobre la Lucha de la Mujer por la Igualdad en los años 60. Mientras ve la película, asegúrese de estar respondiendo a las preguntas del video.

​Para os períodos 2 e 4, estaremos abrindo o Capítulo 23, Seção 1, falando sobre a luta dos latino-americanos e nativos americanos pela igualdade nos anos 60 e 70. No 5º período estaremos assistindo a um pequeno filme sobre a luta feminina pela igualdade na década de 1960. Ao assistir ao filme, certifique-se de responder às perguntas do vídeo.

Continue working on Chapter 23 Study Guide

MONDAY & TUESDAY (May 15th - 16th)

For periods 2 and 4, we'll be finishing out notes on the Vietnam War, and it's lasting consequences in the region and the United States. After we finish the notes, I'll give you some time to begin reading Chapter 23, Section 1, and working on the Section Assessment. For Period 5, we'll begin looking at some of the changing social conditions in the U.S. that were talked about in Chapter 23, Section 1. 

Para los períodos 2 y 4, estaremos terminando las notas sobre la guerra de Vietnam, y sus consecuencias duraderas en la región y los Estados Unidos. Después de terminar las notas, le daré tiempo para comenzar a leer el Capítulo 23, Sección 1, y trabajar en la Evaluación de la Sección. Para el Período 5, comenzaremos a mirar algunas de las condiciones sociales cambiantes en los Estados Unidos de que se habló en el Capítulo 23, Sección 1.

For periods 2 and 4, we're going to spend some time reviewing what you've covered so far in Chapter 22. We'll talk about the key ideas before moving on to any new content. For 5th period, we'll be moving a little faster. We'll do a quicker review, then continue working our way through the new sections. 
Para los períodos 2 y 4, vamos a pasar algún tiempo revisando lo que ha cubierto hasta el momento en el Capítulo 22. Hablaremos de las ideas clave antes de pasar a cualquier contenido nuevo. Para el quinto período, nos moveremos un poco más rápido. Haremos una revisión más rápida, luego continuaremos trabajando nuestro camino a través de las nuevas secciones.

Today we'll take some time to get to know each other. I'll need to check in and find out where your at. Depending on what you've finished so far, we'll either be wrapping up what looks like a photo analysis, or working on our annotation skills in order to analyze a primary source, "Letter from a Soldier in Vietnam".
